Posting Summary

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM) is seeking a Dental Assistant (Registered) to work in the Rutgers University Dental Associates (RUDA) located in New Brunswick, NJ. Performs chair-side, desk-side and sterilization services for providers of RUDA. Assists during various examinations and treatments of patients, dispenses dental materials and instruments.

• Assists Oral Surgeons during standard and complex procedures; anticipates the surgeons’ needs during procedures.
• Charts examinations under the direction of the oral surgeons.
• Manages post-operative patient care, monitors anesthesia patients in recovery.
• Cleans and sterilizes room after each use and prepares room for surgeons, based on scheduled procedures; serves as sterilization assistant.
• Develops and mounts x-rays.
• Mixes filling and impression materials.
• Maintains all dental equipment to ensure they are fully operational pre and post procedures.
• Works closely with staff nurse to ensure accuracy in patient records.
• Maintains inventory, restocks equipment and supplies to ensure efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA); and a valid Radiological Technology License issued by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
CPR certification is essential.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications

BLS trained and certified.
• Knowledge of implant surgical components.
• At least three (3) years of dental experience is highly preferred.
