The ideal candidate should consider themselves an expert in web technologies such as HTML/HTML 5, CSS, JavaScript and supporting frameworks. This candidate should enjoy engaging with other developers in a collaborative team environment, generating ideas, designing solutions and building them.

Responsibilities for this position are developing and maintaining web applications, including design, code development, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation preparation; and analyzing existing application design and code to improve quality, mitigate issues, and improve performance and functionality. This position is a calendar year research position and is not a faculty teaching appointment.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

BS or MS Degree in Computer Science or comparable combination of education and experience with considerable focus developing responsive Web applications using JavaScript.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required experience with web technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React.js/Redux, jQuery), and JSON

Experience consuming APIs in JavaScript client applications

Experience resolving browser, cross-platform compatibility issues, and testing front end applications

Experience with TypeScript and WebGL a plus

Strong written and oral communication skills in English, as well as the ability to work independently and prepare scientific manuscripts is required.
