Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC’s 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Clerk Driver for the Partial Hospital Program at Rutgers, University Behavioral Health Care.

The Senior Clerk Driver will participate as a member of a unit team in providing related patient care services. Transports clients in a timely and safe manner to and from treatment related activities as determined by the number of incident reports, feedback from members and by supervisory review. Renders services in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures.

•Performs routine driving on a full time basis.
•Maintains a daily driving log of client transportation services as monitored by supervisor.
•Responsible for upkeep of the environment of vehicles and maintenance records of program vehicle(s).
•Communicates daily with clinical staff concerning client problems encountered while transporting individuals as determined by the driving log and supervisory review.
•Follows all UBHC policies, including those of confidentiality when interacting with clients, families, or other agencies as determined by relevant feedback from co-workers and random supervisory review.
•Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

•The employee is expected to drive up to a 14 passenger vehicle to outreach clients, and to take clients to various sites in neighboring communities for scheduled appointments. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
•Driving conditions vary depending upon weather and traffic. The employee will be driving throughout program county. Program environment is busy, noisy and hectic. May demand crisis intervention.

Special Conditions

•A valid driver’s license with CDL and passenger endorsement.
•Compliance with Federal, State and University driving regulations.
•Meets annual requirements: annual employee health update (to include PPD), all mandatory educational requirements, and provides Accreditation and Standards Department, and Human Resources copies of any degree requirements, new licenses or new credentials acquired over the last year.
