Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clinical Trials Specialist, Rapid Activation for the Office of Human Research Services (OHRS) department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
• Collaborates with the clinical research team to ensure timely completion of the following tasks: internal site documents, developing work flows, creating treatment order sets, and building electronic calendars to reflect study design/study visits in Oncore®.
• Manages the start-up activities of high priority clinical trials proposed to and/or entering into the OHRS clinical research program portfolio.
• Maintains relationships and facilitates progress across multiple disease specific groups (DSGs).
• Assists with development of investigator-initiated protocols in collaboration with Investigators, management and other relevant research staff.
• Maintains and tracks all site metrics relating to the study start-up process for the department.
• Attends DSG meetings and provides updates on study status during meetings.
• Assists the Clinical Research Coordinators with the development of data collection plans.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in a social science or related field required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, be proficient in computer applications and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Oncore™, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to maximize resources and be resourceful.

Preferred Qualifications

• Nursing degree.
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of oncology experience.
• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
• Previous experience as a clinical research coordinator/research nurse.

Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.
