Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for The School of Social Work. This position assists with programmatic details on the “Enhancing Victim Services Throughout Rutgers University” project and the SMART Project at the Center on Violence Against Women & Children at the School of Social Work.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
• Supports preparation of reports and other documents for funding agencies. Assists with compiling tracking data and program statistics.
• Assists with pulling together reports, presentations, and consultation needs on a quick deadline.
• Carries out routine and non-routine tasks with review of work outputs by supervisor.
• Supports VAWC through compiling statistics, data, maintaining deadlines, and preparing presentations.
• Assists with data collection for monthly and quarterly reports.
• Supports work completed by partner groups and supervisors.
• Supports projects through ordering supplies, collecting timesheets, and reserving meeting space.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in a social science or other related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must successfully complete Rutgers University Human Subjects Certification Program (CITI) within two weeks of employment.
• Experience in an administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferred to have an understanding of issues related to violence against women and children.

Equipment Utilized

• The position requires the regular use of a computer and expertise with the following software: Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) Microsoft Internet Explorer.
• In addition, a working knowledge of client software is needed.
