Posting Summary

Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Department of Neurological Surgery. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Stella Elkabes, the Postdoctoral Fellow performs specialized molecular and cellular research on the mouse spinal cord and behavioral research for the assessment of pain in mice. Other responsibilities include literature reviews, data analysis and writing for publications.

  • Compiles, analyzes and maintains all data related to research activities. Prepares reports, databases, graphs, and charts, as required. Conducts library and Internet searches.
  • Reviews selected literature relevant to research activities.
  • Reviews scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments related to research activities.
  • Writes manuscripts.
  • Assists with animal protocol and grant submissions.
  • Trains graduate students and lab technicians in research, as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. degree with experience in performing behavioral tests combined with knowledge of molecular and cellular approaches applicable to the spinal cord.
  • At least six (6) years of research experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand or communicate fluently in English.
  • Excellent computer and statistical analysis. skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
