Posting Summary

Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Program Coordinator (Regulatory Compliance) for the Cancer Center Initiative (Clinical Research Unit). Works across all therapeutic areas. He/she works with New Jersey Medical School faculty principal investigators and serves as a member of the Clinical Research team.

  • Responsible for coordinating and supporting the regulatory affairs activities encountered in clinical research trials conducted by the Clinical Research Unit.
  • Responsibilities include preparation of Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, responses to funding agencies, regulatory bodies and pharmaceutical partners, preparation of annual reports, preparation of investigator documentation, adverse event monitoring and reporting and conducting of appropriate quality assurance measures.
  • Assists the Director in ensuring adherence to protocols, appropriate regulations, and deadlines.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years of regulatory compliance experience, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Applicants may substitute additional related experience for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Thorough working knowledge of regulatory requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills; detail oriented.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Able to function independently and work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Knowledge of Newark community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Credentialed as a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator or willingness to become certified.
