Posting Summary

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available immediately for The Department of Animal Sciences at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in the laboratory of Dr. Dipak Sarkar to study the transgenerational epigenetic effects of alcohol on stress and immune systems. The research will focus on the effects of fetal or preconception alcohol on DNA methylation and expression of stress and immune regulatory genes for multiple generations with a goal towards understanding the mechanism of transgenerational transmission of alcohol epigenetic effects via germline.


Minimum Education and Experience

Candidates should have a recent Ph.D. in cell biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, or a
related discipline and experience in cell biology and/or animal behaviors.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in one or more of the following areas is desired: RNA-sequencing and
bioinformatics, pyrosequencing, ChIP assay, transcriptional and gel-shift assays.
Experience in rodent surgeries and cell culture is preferred. Strong written and oral
communication skills are required.
