Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Financial Analyst for the Department of Administration and Planning at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The primary purpose of the Financial Analyst is the day to day administration of restricted accounts to CCSG. This Finance staff has to accomplish accounting functions and prepare concise and timely monthly analyses.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
• Processes journal entries and allocation of various expenses, including salaries to the appropriate grants and other funding sources.
• Manages the billing / invoicing services for all CINJ shared resources utilizing the Facility Billing Software (FBS) application system. Tasks include, but are not limited to: invoicing / accounts receivable (AR) management; generation and distribution of invoices; collection and posting of user payments; preparation and distribution of AR reports illustrating outstanding aging invoices and follow up on past due invoices.
• Deposits into appropriate university accounts all shared resources billing receivables and posts the receivables via journal entries in the Oracle financial management system.
• Processes Employee charging instructions (ECI) for Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG.)
• Monitors, analyzes and reconciles grant and contract accounts.
• Prepares and processes journal entries and allocations of various expenses, including salaries to the appropriate grants and other funding sources.
• Maintains staff time and effort relating to grants and contracts (CCSG.)

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, plus three (3) years of experience in related fiscal activities.
• Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the education requirement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
• Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with institute specific program preferred, i.e., RAPSS and Oracle.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the maintenance and review of budgetary and fiscal records including experience with computer based accounting systems.
