Posting Summary

The School of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Office is searching for administrative support for the Office of Human Resources-Academics.
Responsible for:
• Providing confidential administrative support services.
• Greet and assist walk-ins and callers.
• Provide accurate information and direction in a professional and courteous manner both in-person and over the phone.
• File (electronic and hard copy), photocopy, scan.
• Review & proofread various types of academic personnel documents;
• Assist with review of various personnel actions.
• Scheduling and coordinating logistics for meetings and events.
• Sort and distribute mail.
• Assist in special project assignments.
• Will serve as a courier of time-sensitive and confidential documents to University offices across the three New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses, as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

High School diploma or equivalent, and/or up to 4 years of relevant office, clerical, bookkeeping, library assistant or related experience depending on the duties to be performed. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must be proficient with Microsoft Word; some Excel experience desired. Excellent communication skills. Proofreading experience a plus. Because of the nature of the materials handled with this assignment, a confidentiality waiver will need to be signed by the individual hired into this position.

Equipment Utilized

Computer, copier, scanner

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to carry 15-20 lbs.

Ability to walk up and down stairs.

Special Conditions

Temporary 6 month appointment.
