Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Clinic Services Representative II for the Department of Surgery of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

The Clinic Services Representative II performs a variety of patient registration, billing and collection duties in support of University Medical Group clinic operations. This position greets and registers patients, schedules appointments, responds to routine inquiries regarding a number of operating and billing issues, receives patient payments and performs routine bookkeeping tasks.

• Promptly answers incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
• Provides physician information and referrals for care to patients in a courteous and professional manner utilizing referral service software.
• Keeps patients waiting to be seen apprised of any inordinate delays in being seen by physician and the reason for same.
• Utilizes computer to process full registration information for new patients, including accurately collecting and verifying insurance information.
• Maintains computer databases and enters changes in demographic, insurance and other information, as required.
• Monitors accuracy of records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• The ability to function in a team environment.
• Basic word processing and computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of relevant experience in a medical office setting.

• Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Ability to lift or exert up to 25 lbs.

• Work Environment: Office environment. Moderate noise.
