Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Nurse Clinician for the Office of Human Research Services at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Ensures successful, patient-oriented, safe and effective conduct of clinical trials.
• Assists investigators to prepare and implement new clinical trials, screens and enrolls study participants, and provides protocol-related clinical management to those participants while on study.
• Serves as a resource to other Cancer Institute faculty and staff on available protocols, and general research topics such as FDA, IRB and GCP regulations.
• Prepares for study activation, reviews protocol, collects multidisciplinary logistical, educational and financial feedback to identify potential obstacles to safe, effective study conduct.
• Actively identifies and resolves conflicts in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
• Creates and performs quality assurance on study tools such as the eligibility checklist, patient diaries, and staff task guides.
• Tracks protocol progress through approval system using OnCore to identify status, and proactively coordinates activities essential to the activation process in collaboration with the Clinical Research Review Specialist (CRRS).

Minimum Education and Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a license to practice in the State of New Jersey.
• One (1) year of oncology experience .

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must maintain active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, have excellent organizational skills, be proficient in computer applications (Oncore™, Word, Excel, etc.), possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to maximize resources and be resourceful.
• Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
