Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University is seeking a Dining Services Worker B (Full-Time) for Dining Services. This position is under the guidance and supervision of a Dining Services worker A or other senior dining service worker. Duties include:

•Performs general food service utility duties in various dining hall facilities.
•Mopping, Sweeping, Restrooms, Dish Room, Pot Room, Vacuuming, Kitchen Maintenance, Refuse Disposal, Loading Dock Maintenance, Servery Station Cleaning, Building Perimeter Maintenance, Setup and Breakdown for special events.
• Assists cooks, bakers, and Dining Services supervisors in tasks involving sanitary food handling.
• May provide dining room services, including cash register duties.

No experience required.

Requires excellent customer service skills, including the ability to multi task while remaining calm and professional when dealing with customers in a busy environment.
Adherence to high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time; and to lift and carry food and beverage items, and equipment.

Special Conditions

2 Part-time, 20 hour openings.
Hours to be discussed at interview.
Rotating weekends.
Dishroom/Maintenance; ensure a clean work environment in the pot room, dish room, servery, restrooms and store rooms.
The finalist for this position will be subject to a background investigation, the results of which will be considered in the hiring decision.
