Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst for the Office of Finance within the Central Administration. This position works closely with the central and business units to identify, execute and deliver efficient reporting solutions.

  • Reviews existing systems and processes and provides suggestions and project plans for improvements. Implements improvements, as directed.
  • Takes on lead role in implementing new projects as identified by management.
  • Participates in electronic payment solutions ensuring maximization of rebates and cost reductions.
  • Participates in electronic invoicing initiatives to further streamline the payment process.
  • Develops exception reports and analyses
  • Develops benchmarks and analytics for assessing departmental performance.
  • Achieves and maintains a thorough understanding of Banner processes and actively participates in Ellucian resources including the Commons and Community Source.
  • Performs uploads, downloads and transfers of pay data with the bank, vendors, etc.
  • Assists in reconciling accounts payable transactions to the general ledger.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’ regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they
    change or are modified.
  • Develops exception reports and analyses
  • Develops benchmarks and analytics for assessing departmental performance.
  • Participates in the testing of system upgrades.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code
    of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Accounting or Business.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in implementing change initiatives as a technical expert within a specified product or process area.
  • Ability to understand complex, integrated, state-of-the-art and legacy computer systems.
  • Broad technical skills in financial systems development, database development or application support.
  • Skills in planning, organization and project management.
  • Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and a desire to provide superior customer service to end users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in SQL
  • Proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Experience using Excel add in Smart View for ad hoc reporting from a connection to the ERP database
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using Oracle Fusion ERP and the following reporting tools: Financial Reporting Studio, BI Publisher and Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI)
