Posting Summary

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is seeking a Research Teaching Specialist IV for the Department of Oral Biology. Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Research Teaching Specialist IV performs research activities. Prepares microbial cultures, carries out research in the field of microbiology and infectious disease and may assist the Principal Investigator in the day-to-day management of the laboratory.

• Prepares microbial cultures to be shipped off-site.
• Conducts quality control analysis of samples.
• Performs laboratory experiments utilizing techniques in microbiology.
• Assists in training undergraduate and graduate students.
• Assists in preparing grants, reports, and scientific manuscripts.
• Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and Rutgers’ regulations, laws, and policies.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Master’s Degree in a relevant science, or a Bachelor’s Degree in biology, microbiology or relevant sciences plus one (1) year of related research experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications

• Preference will be given to individuals with training in microbiology and hands-on research experience in bacteriology and cell cultures.
