Posting Summary

Rutgers School of Dental Medicine is seeking a Clinical Services Representative I to carry out a variety of front desk services related to cash collection within the Rutgers University Dental Associates (RUDA) clinic located in New Brunswick. Serves as a receptionist, maintains appointment books, requests charts, posts payments, enters and updates patient demographic and insurance information and collects co-payments.

• Registers patients presenting for treatment; enters all biographic and insurance information into computer system.
• Obtains a copy of patient’s Medicaid/Medicaid HMO card and verifies and updates information.
• Responsible for the collection and posting of patient’s payments.
• Prepares and balances receipts daily for the bank deposits.
• Responsible for requesting charts for next day and ensuring that they are received.
• Assists in reviewing the patients’ charts to ascertain the account status and performs chart audits when requested.
• Calls patients with scheduling recall reminders.
• Responsible for opening the front desk in the morning and securing the area at the end of the day.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical experience, one year of which must have been in a business setting involving cash collections.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be computer literate, including proficiency in Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree.
• Preference will be given to those with at least three (3) years of prior dental front desk experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be able to lift and move supply boxes of up to 10 lbs.
