Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow within Population Studies department at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Coordinates the conduct of population studies research, including studies of health-related behaviors and beliefs among cancer patients and individuals at risk for cancer, under the direct supervision of Principal Investigators.
• Assists in ongoing research, with a particular focus on skin cancer prevention and control, data management and analysis, and writing and preparation of manuscripts and grant applications.
• Performs other related duties as assigned including but not limited to, providing analysis using quantitative and qualitative data, writing lead-author papers, and designing, applying for, and conducting grant-funded research.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Doctoral degree in public health, psychology (e.g., health, social, clinical, or counseling), or a related field required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively is also essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in cancer prevention and control of psycho-oncology research is preferred.
• Strong record of publications and excellent writing and statistical skills preferred.
