Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Associate II to provide technical support to the Associate Extension Specialist in Water Resources by providing the skills needed to organize and coordinate municipal action teams for promoting green stormwater infrastructure in New Jersey’s urban and suburban communities. This position also will assist the Associate Extension Specialist in Water Resources in managing grant projects and allocating resources to each project. The key duties of this position are the following:

• Organizes, coordinates, and supports municipal action teams to promote green stormwater infrastructure in New Jersey’s urban and suburban communities
• Provides project management of grant projects which includes providing recommendations for resource allocation, reviewing budgets, scheduling, and overseeing subcontractors
• Assists the Associate Extension Specialist in Water Resources with the development of Extension programming in water resources
• Creates projects including design manuals, demonstration projects, and PowerPoint presentations that will help stakeholders address water resources related issues
• Supports projects within the Rutgers Cooperative Extension Water Resources Program
• Assists with and manages projects and sets schedules for various project tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, landscape architecture, engineering, planning, or related design field

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Valid NJ Driver’s License
• Required knowledge includes general understanding of green stormwater infrastructure planning and design, project management, and resource allocation
• Required skills include ability to use Microsoft Project, Excel, and Word
• Work will require travel throughout New Jersey and attendance at periodic evening and weekend programs

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Training experience preferred
